Draw an astronaut on moon in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: egg head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Egg head

Left of the middle, near the top, draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.

Tip Leave room around the head for a big round helmet.

  2. Step 2: The face

Draw 2 big eyes in the middle of the head, with dots and shines. Add a nose, smile and eyebrows.

  3. Step 3: Soft hair

Start on the left by the eyebrows. Draw round tufts over the top, down to the right. Add a hairline.

  4. Step 4: Space helmet

Around the whole head draw a big circle for the helmet, leaving a gap all round.

  5. Step 5: Neck and suit

Draw 2 neck lines and a collar ring. From the ring draw a round suit top back to the ring.

  6. Step 6: Sleeves and gloves

From each shoulder draw a sleeve that bends at the elbow and narrows to the wrist. Add a mitten glove.

  7. Step 7: Trousers

Start at the suit's bottom left. Draw 2 long trouser legs with a point between. Stop at the bottom right.

  8. Step 8: Boots and moon ground

Under each leg draw a tall boot, toe pointing out. Draw the moon ground across, dipping at both ends.

  9. Step 9: The flag

Start on the ground on the right. Rule a tall pole up and stop near the top. Add a flag.

  10. Step 10: Craters, Earth and stars

Draw 2 flat oval craters under the ground line. Top left, draw Earth with 2 land blobs. Add 2 stars.

  11. Step 11: Peach skin

Colour the face and neck peach and the cheeks pink. Leave the eyes and the suit white.

  12. Step 12: Grey and yellow

Colour the boots, gloves, collar ring and craters grey. Colour the stars yellow.

  13. Step 13: Red and brown

Colour the flag red and the hair brown.

  14. Step 14: Green and blue

Colour the land blobs green, then the Earth blue around them. Your astronaut on the moon is done!
