How to Draw a Fig Fruit

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a fig fruit in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: half a fig.

Print

  1. Step 1: Half a fig

Right of the middle draw a fig: a fat round bottom like a plum with a short neck on top.

Tip A fat teardrop, point up.

  2. Step 2: The rind

Inside it draw a second fig shape a finger inside the first, all the way round.

  3. Step 3: The pink middle

Inside that draw a smaller fig shape in the middle for the seedy pink heart.

  4. Step 4: Tiny seeds

Dot a dozen tiny seeds inside the pink middle, spread all over it.

  5. Step 5: A whole fig

To the left draw a second whole fig tucked behind the half, with its own neck on top.

  6. Step 6: Stems

From the neck of each fig draw a short curved stem of 2 lines, leaning towards each other.

  7. Step 7: Shine and leaf

Draw a thin oval shine on the whole fig. By its stem draw a small leaf with 3 round lobes.

  8. Step 8: The ground

Draw a ground line under both figs, just touching their bottoms, from far left to far right.

  9. Step 9: Cream rind, pink middle

Colour the rind of the half cream and its middle pink.

  10. Step 10: Green leaf

    Colour the leaf green.

  11. Step 11: Purple skins

Colour both fig skins purple around the rind, leaving the shine white. Colour the stems brown. Your figs are done!
