How to Draw an Amphitheatre
Draw an amphitheatre in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big rainbow.
Step 1: The big rainbow
Start at the middle left. Draw one huge rainbow over the top and stop at the middle right.
Tip This is the top row of seats, so make it nearly as wide as the page.
Step 2: Stepped walls
From each end draw straight down, along the bottom toward the middle, then 4 stair steps back up.
Tip Leave a wide gap between the 2 walls for the stage.
Step 3: Round stage
In the gap draw a wide flat oval from one wall to the other. This is the stage floor.
Step 4: Rows of seats
Draw 3 more rainbows in between. Start each at a step corner and stop at the matching corner.
Tip Keep the rainbows the same distance apart, like ripples in a pond.
Step 5: Three stairways
Draw 3 straight lines. Start each at the stage, fan out, and stop at the top rainbow.
Step 6: The ground line
Start near the left edge. Draw a flat ground line to the wall. Do the same on the right.
Step 7: The sun
In the top right corner draw a round sun with 8 short rays around it.
Step 8: Sun and stage
Colour the sun yellow. Colour the round stage floor cream.
Step 9: Sandy seats
Colour all the curved rows of seats sand.
Tip Sand is a pale yellow-brown. A light brown crayon pressed softly works too.
Step 10: Stone walls
Colour the 2 stepped walls tan.
Step 11: Green grass
Colour the grass green below the ground line, around the stage. Your amphitheatre is done!
Tip Colour right out to the edges of the paper.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: an amphitheatre, drawn by you.
