How to Draw a Fan
Draw a fan in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the cage.
Step 1: The cage
High on your paper draw 1 big circle, as wide as your hand. Draw a second circle just inside it.
Tip A thick ring, like a hoop.
Step 2: The hub
In the very middle of the cage draw a round circle, about 2 fingers wide.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Draw 2 big round eyes in the hub, above the middle. Add a black dot and a shine in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a tiny U smile. Add a small oval cheek beside each end.
Step 5: Three blades
From the hub draw 3 fat rounded blades, stopping just inside the inner ring: 1 up, 1 down-right, 1 down-left.
Step 6: Cage wires
Across the cage draw 4 straight wires from ring to ring, behind the hub and blades, like slicing a pie.
Step 7: The neck
Under the cage draw a short thick neck straight down, from the bottom of the cage to the base.
Step 8: The base
Under the neck draw a wide flat base with soft rounded ends, and a little round button on it.
Step 9: Wind and ground
Right of the cage draw 3 short curved wind lines blowing out. Add a ground line under the base.
Step 10: Sky blades
Go over your lines, then colour the 3 blades sky blue, leaving the eyes white.
Step 11: Pink cheeks, yellow hub
Colour the cheeks pink, then colour the hub yellow around them.
Step 12: Grey cage and base
Colour the cage ring, the neck and the base grey, and your fan is blowing!
