How to Draw a Binder Clip
Draw a binder clip in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the clip body.
Step 1: The clip body
In the middle draw the clip: a box with soft corners, narrow at the top and wide at the bottom.
Step 2: Two big eyes
High on the clip draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a shine.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile. Add a small oval cheek out beside each eye.
Step 4: The jaws
Near the bottom of the clip draw a straight line across, from side to side, for the jaws.
Step 5: Two wire handles
From the middle of the top draw 2 thick wire loops leaning out, wide at the top with big holes.
Step 6: The paper
Behind the clip draw a tall box for the paper. Its top edge goes into the clip.
Step 7: More sheets
Draw 2 more sheets peeking out at the top right of the paper, each a little higher and further right.
Step 8: Writing lines
On the paper below the clip draw 3 writing lines, the last one shorter. Keep them off the edges.
Step 9: Table line
Start well left of the paper and draw a straight table line along its bottom, stopping well right.
Step 10: Cream paper, pink cheeks
Go over your lines. Colour all the paper cream and the cheeks pink.
Step 11: Grey handles
Colour the 2 wire handles grey.
Step 12: Dark grey clip
Colour the clip dark grey, jaws and all, around the eyes and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
