How to Draw a Factory
Draw a factory in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the walls.
Step 1: The walls
Start on the left, below the middle. Draw down, across, and up the right, stopping level with the start.
Step 2: Zigzag roof
Along the top of the walls, draw a zigzag roof: 3 slopes up to points, each dropping straight down.
Step 3: The chimney
Start on the right roof slope. Draw a tall chimney up and down, stopping on the slope. Add a cap.
Step 4: Puffs of smoke
Above the chimney, draw 3 puffy ovals of smoke drifting up right, each a little smaller.
Step 5: Big door
Start on the bottom line, in the middle. Draw a big door up, across, and back down to the line.
Step 6: Door slats and handle
Draw 3 lines across the door, side to side, like a rolling door. Add a small round handle.
Step 7: Two windows
On each side of the door, draw a big square window with a sill underneath and a plus sign inside.
Step 8: The clock
Above the door, draw a small round clock. From the middle, draw a hand up and a hand right.
Step 9: Ground and bushes
Draw a ground line out from each corner. Start on the ground at each corner, draw a bush, and stop.
Step 10: Sky windows, green bushes
Go over your lines. Colour the windows and clock sky blue and the bushes green.
Step 11: Grey chimney, blue door
Colour the chimney and its cap grey and the big door blue.
Step 12: Red walls, grey roof
Colour the walls red around the windows, clock, door and bushes, and the roof dark grey. Your factory is working!
