How to Draw a Face Profile
Draw a face profile in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
In the upper middle, draw a big round head from the side, facing right, with a nose bump in front.
Tip Leave room below for the neck and shoulders.
Step 2: Eye and brow
Behind the nose top, draw 1 big round eye with a dot and shine. Add a short brow above it.
Step 3: The smile
Under the nose, draw a short smile from below the eye, curving up to the front edge.
Step 4: The ear
Halfway back, draw a C ear. Start level with the eye, bulge back, and stop level with the nose.
Step 5: Hair
From the forehead, draw soft tufts over the head, down to ear level. Join the ends with a hairline.
Step 6: Neck and shoulders
Draw 2 neck lines down from the chin. Slope a shoulder out from each and join with a flat line.
Step 7: Collar
Draw a gentle curve across the bottom of the neck, from one neck line to the other.
Step 8: Peach skin, pink cheek
Colour a pink cheek. Colour the face, ear and neck peach around it, leaving the eye white.
Step 9: Brown hair
Colour the hair brown between the hairline and the tufts.
Step 10: Blue shirt
Colour the shoulders blue, right up to the collar. Go over your lines and you're done!
