How to Draw Bobbing for Apples

Draw bobbing for apples in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper draw an egg head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave the middle of the page for the tub in front of the chest.
Step 2: Eyes, nose and brows
Draw 2 oval eyes with big dots, a tiny U nose and low soft eyebrows. No mouth yet!
Step 3: Soft hair cap
From the left eyebrow draw soft tufts over the head, down to the right one. Add a curved hairline.
Step 4: Apple in the teeth
On the chin draw a round apple caught in the teeth, well below the nose, with a short stem.
Step 5: Neck and T-shirt
From the chin draw 2 neck lines down to a T-shirt: shoulders, short sleeves, a bit of each side.
Step 6: Arms over the tub
From each sleeve draw an arm bending out a little, then down to a round fist below the T-shirt.
Tip Make each arm thinner at the wrist than at the sleeve.
Step 7: Thumbs and fingers
On each fist draw a small thumb bump near the top and 2 short finger lines at the bottom.
Step 8: The tub
Draw a tub behind the arms: oval rim, sides from each end down to a flat bottom, and 2 hoops.
Tip Add a long ground line under the tub.
Step 9: Water and apples
Draw a water oval in the rim. Add 2 apple bumps, each starting and stopping on the water's front edge.
Tip Add a smaller apple further back with a waterline. Give each apple a little stem.
Step 10: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Go over your lines. Colour the face, neck and arms peach, with pink cheeks.
Tip Keep the eyes white.
Step 11: Sky water, ginger hair
Colour the water sky blue around the arms and apples, and the hair ginger.
Step 12: Green shirt, red apples
Colour the T-shirt green, and the apple in the teeth and the 3 floating apples red.
Step 13: Wood brown tub
Colour the tub and rim wood brown, going around the fists and the water. Now you're done!
