How to Draw an Escape Pod
Draw an escape pod in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: egg pod.
Step 1: Egg pod
In the middle of your paper, draw a big egg standing on end: a round bottom and a narrower top.
Tip Round all over, no pointy nose.
Step 2: Round window
In the upper half of the egg, draw a big round window.
Step 3: Eyes and smile
In the window, draw 2 big round eyes with black dots and little shines, and a smile under them.
Step 4: The band
Low on the egg, draw a thin level band right across it: 2 lines close together.
Step 5: Two legs
Start on the egg's lower sides. Draw 2 legs splaying out, down-left and down-right. Stop each on a foot pad.
Tip The legs splay out wide so the pod lands steady.
Step 6: Thruster flame
Under the egg, draw one pointed flame licking down between the legs, and a smaller flame inside it.
Step 7: Three stars
In the space around the pod, draw 3 stars with 5 points. Keep them away from the pod.
Step 8: White pod
Colour the egg white, going around the window and the band.
Step 9: Yellow and pink
Colour the small flame and the 3 stars yellow. Colour 2 small pink cheeks under the eyes.
Step 10: Sky window
Colour the window sky blue, around the eyes and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Orange flame, red band
Colour the big flame orange around the yellow one. Colour the band red.
Step 12: Grey legs
Colour the legs and the foot pads grey. Your escape pod is away!
