How to Draw an Engineer
Draw an engineer in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top draw an egg head, narrower at the chin. Add C ears, starting and stopping on the head.
Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.
Step 2: Face and glasses
Draw 2 small eyes, a U nose and a smile. Add round glasses around the eyes, joined by a bridge.
Step 3: Hard hat
Draw a big dome hat over the head, with a short brim across the bottom. Add a ridge on top.
Step 4: Neck and shirt
Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one draw a shirt round to the right one, with short sleeves.
Step 5: Safety vest
Over the shirt draw 2 long vest panels, open in the middle. Add a stripe band across each panel.
Step 6: Arms
From each sleeve draw an arm down to the wrist. The right hangs down, the left bends at the elbow.
Step 7: Mitten hands
Draw a mitten from each wrist round to the other arm line. Add a thumb curve on the left.
Step 8: Clipboard
Behind the left hand draw a tall board. Add a paper inside, a small clip on top and 2 lines.
Step 9: Trousers
Start at the bottom left of the vest. Draw 2 trouser legs down and back up to the bottom right.
Step 10: Shoes and ground
Under each trouser leg draw a shoe. Draw a straight ground line under the shoes.
Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour pink cheeks, then the face, ears, neck, arms and hands peach around them. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Sky shirt, orange vest
Colour the shirt sky blue, then the vest orange around the arm and clipboard. Leave the stripes and hat white.
Step 13: Clipboard, trousers, shoes
Colour the clipboard brown around the hand and paper, the trousers navy, then the clip and shoes black.
