How to Draw an Elevator
Draw an elevator in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the doors.
Step 1: The doors
A little left of the middle, draw a tall rectangle for the doors, much taller than it is wide.
Step 2: The frame
Start at the bottom, a finger left of the doors. Draw a square upside-down U. Stop at the bottom.
Tip Leave a finger of wall at the sides and more room at the top.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Draw 2 big egg eyes low on the doors. Colour a big black dot in each, leaving a white shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Draw a wide U smile under the eyes. Add a small flat oval cheek beside each end.
Step 5: Door split
Rule down the middle from the top, stop above the eyes. Start again under the smile, stop at the bottom.
Tip Keep the face clear of the line.
Step 6: Up arrow
In the wide top of the frame, draw a small box with an up arrow inside.
Tip The arrow shows the elevator is going up!
Step 7: Button panel
Right of the frame, level with the eyes, draw a small tall box with 2 round buttons inside.
Step 8: The floor
Rule a long floor line along the bottom of the doors and frame, wider on both sides.
Step 9: Sky frame, yellow buttons
Colour the arrow box and buttons yellow, then the frame sky blue around the box.
Step 10: Pink cheeks, slate doors
Colour the cheeks pink and the doors slate around them, leaving the eyes white. Your elevator is ready!
