How to Draw a Bicycle
Draw a bicycle in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: wheels, rims and hubs.
Step 1: Wheels, rims and hubs
Draw 2 big wheels near the bottom, a gap apart, on a road. Add a rim and hub in each.
Tip Trace round a cup so the wheels match.
Step 2: Fork and head tube
From the front hub, draw a fat stick up and back, stopping above the tyre. Add a pill on top.
Step 3: Chain wheel and pedal
Low between the wheels, draw a chain wheel, a crank and pedal, and a fat stick up to the pill.
Step 4: Top bar and post
From the pill, draw a fat stick straight back above the tyres. Add a tall stick up through its end.
Step 5: Back stays
From the tall stick, draw a fat stick down to the back hub. Add another from the chain wheel.
Step 6: Saddle
From the tall stick, draw a short post up. Add a chunky saddle: pointy front, fat back.
Step 7: Handlebar and bell
From the pill, draw a stick up, then a bar forward to a fat grip. Add a round bell.
Step 8: Basket
From the handlebar, hang 2 straps down to a pill rim. Add a bucket with 3 lines, above the tyre.
Step 9: Spokes
In each wheel, draw 3 straight lines through the hub from rim to rim, like cutting a pizza.
Step 10: Yellow bell, grey bits
Go over your lines. Colour the bell yellow, and the hubs, chain wheel and handlebar light grey.
Step 11: Tan basket, red frame
Colour the basket tan and every fat stick of the frame red.
Step 12: Brown saddle, dark tyres
Colour the saddle brown, and the tyres, grip, crank and pedal dark grey.
