How to Draw a Durian
Draw a durian in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a big egg.
Step 1: A big egg
In the middle of your paper, lightly draw a big egg, a little taller than it is wide.
Step 2: Spiky edge
Start at the top and zigzag spikes round the egg. Stop just before the start to leave a gap.
Tip Point, dip, point, dip, all the way round: about 30 spikes.
Step 3: The stem
From one side of the gap draw a short thick stem with a flat top, down to the other side.
Step 4: Skin spikes
On the left half of the durian, scatter 4 little upside-down V marks, well apart.
Tip Like tiny tents, none touching.
Step 5: More spikes
On the right half, scatter 4 more little V marks, keeping clear of the others.
Step 6: The ground
Draw a ground line under the durian, just touching its lowest spike, out past both sides.
Step 7: A shadow
Draw a flat oval shadow on the ground under the durian. Rub out the ground line inside it.
Step 8: Grey shadow
Rub out the egg and go over your lines. Colour the shadow grey.
Step 9: Green durian
Colour the durian green, right out to the tips of the spikes.
Step 10: Brown stem
Colour the stem brown, and your spiky durian is done!
