How to Draw a Dumpling
Draw a dumpling in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the dumpling.
Step 1: The dumpling
Left of the middle draw a big half-moon with a flat bottom. Make the curved edge 7 little bumps.
Tip Like a fat slice of melon with a crimped edge.
Step 2: Pleats
From each notch between the bumps draw a short curved line in toward the middle, like little fingers.
Step 3: Second dumpling
To the right, tucked behind the first, draw a smaller half-moon with 4 bumps. Start and stop on the first.
Step 4: Its pleats
On the small dumpling draw a short curved line in from each notch.
Step 5: A plate
Draw a big flat oval plate behind both dumplings, just a little wider than the two together.
Step 6: Chopsticks
On the front of the plate draw 2 long sticks side by side. Keep both ends on the plate.
Step 7: Steam
A little above the big dumpling, draw 3 wiggly steam lines going up.
Step 8: Cream dough
Go over your lines, then colour both dumplings cream.
Step 9: Sky plate
Colour the plate sky blue, around the dumplings and chopsticks.
Step 10: Wood chopsticks
Colour the chopsticks wood brown. Your dumplings are ready to eat!
