How to Draw a Drive-In Theater
Draw a drive-in theater in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the screen.
Step 1: The screen
Across the top draw a big wide rectangle, nearly as wide as the page. Add a thin border all round.
Tip A drive-in theater is a giant outdoor screen you watch from your car.
Step 2: Posts
Under the screen draw 2 thick posts going down from near each end to the ground.
Step 3: On the screen
On the screen draw a crescent moon on the right and 3 little stars.
Step 4: Left car
Right of the left post, draw a car from the side: a low body, a rounded top and 2 windows.
Step 5: Its wheels
Under the car draw 2 round wheels touching the ground, tucked behind the body. Add a hub circle in each.
Step 6: Right car
Left of the right post, draw a second car the same way, with 2 windows.
Step 7: More wheels
Under it draw 2 round wheels touching the ground, with a hub circle in each.
Step 8: Speaker post
Between the cars draw a short post on the ground with a little box speaker on top.
Step 9: Ground
Draw a ground line under everything, from just past the left post to just past the right.
Step 10: Yellow moon, grey frame
Go over your lines. Colour the moon and stars yellow, and the frame light grey.
Step 11: Red and blue cars
Colour the left car red and the right car blue.
Step 12: Slate wheels and posts
Colour the wheels, posts, speaker and its post slate grey.
Step 13: Navy screen
Colour the screen navy blue, going around the moon and stars. Enjoy the show!
