How to Draw a Drill Truck
Draw a drill truck in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: cab and bed.
Step 1: Cab and bed
Start low on the left. Draw up over the tall cab, along the low bed, and stop at the back.
Tip The bed behind the cab is half as tall.
Step 2: Floor and wheel bumps
Start under the front wall. Draw the floor with 2 big rainbow bumps. Stop under the back wall.
Step 3: Headlight and bumper
On the front wall, draw a tall pill headlight. Under it, draw a pill bumper poking out in front.
Step 4: Two fat tyres
Under each bump, draw a big circle tyre, a little smaller than the bump. Their bottoms hang below the floor.
Step 5: The big windscreen
A finger inside the front corner, draw a big window that follows the curve of the cab. Wider than tall.
Step 6: The door window
A finger behind the windscreen, draw a rounded rectangle window just as tall as the windscreen.
Step 7: Stripe, seam, tail light
Start under the window. Draw a dipping stripe forward and stop at the front. Add a seam and tail light.
Step 8: Tall mast and beacon
Draw a tall mast on the back of the bed. Add 5 rungs from one edge across to the other.
Step 9: Drill head and auger
Halfway up the mast, draw a small box. From under it, draw a zigzag pole down to the road.
Step 10: Hubcaps and road
Draw a smaller circle with a dot in each tyre. Draw a long straight road under both tyres.
Step 11: Blue truck, black tyres
Go over your lines. Colour the truck blue, around the windows, lights and handle. Colour the tyres black.
Step 12: Sky windows, red lights
Colour the windows sky blue, leaving a little shine white. Colour the beacon and tail light red.
Step 13: Yellow mast, grey auger
Colour the mast, drill head and headlight yellow. Colour the auger, the mounds and the gaps over the tyres grey.
