How to Draw a Monster Truck
Draw a monster truck in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: two giant tyres.
Step 1: Two giant tyres
Low on the left, draw a giant circle, fist-sized. Draw another on the right, a tyre away.
Tip The tyres are the biggest thing in the picture.
Step 2: Truck body
Above the front tyre, draw the truck in one line: nose, hood, tall cab, flat bed, tail, then the floor.
Tip The body floats a finger above the tyres.
Step 3: Headlight eye and smile
On the nose, draw one big round headlight eye with a black pupil. Under it, draw a bold U smile.
Tip One smooth smile, no wiggles. Add 2 white shines to the eye.
Step 4: Window and pillar
Inside the cab, draw a tall D window. Start low on the windscreen, go up, along, and down to it.
Step 5: Rims, hubs and tread
In each tyre, draw a rim circle and a small hub. Add 8 short tread lines in from the edge.
Tip Leave a thick tyre wall all round, and space the tread lines like a clock.
Step 6: Struts and spring
From the floor, draw a fat post onto each tyre. Draw a bar between. Zigzag a spring down to it.
Tip The spring starts mid-floor and stops on the bar.
Step 7: Door and handle
Start where the cab meets the bed. Draw a door line down to the floor. Add a small pill handle.
Step 8: Flames on the bed
Start on the door line under the bed top. Draw 2 pointy flames licking back, then down to the floor.
Tip Two tongues only, each tip curling up a little, with a soft round dip between.
Step 9: Stack and smoke
From the bed, draw a thin tube up to just below the roof. Draw a puffy smoke cloud above it.
Tip Leave a little gap between the tube and the smoke.
Step 10: The ground
Start in front of the front tyre. Draw one straight ground line under both tyres, stopping behind the back tyre.
Step 11: Yellow light, orange flames
Go over your lines. Colour the headlight yellow. Colour the flames orange with yellow inside.
Step 12: Blue body, sky window
Colour the body blue around the headlight and flames. Colour the window sky blue.
Step 13: Grey metal, dark tyres
Colour the rims, struts, bar, stack and smoke grey. Colour the tyres dark grey around the rims.
