How to Draw a Dreidel

12 steps · Medium · about 9 min

Draw a dreidel in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the front.

Print

  1. Step 1: The front

In the middle of your paper draw a box with a flat top and a pointy bottom.

Tip A square on top of a triangle, all in one line.

  2. Step 2: Top and side

Draw a thin slanted top. From its right corner draw a line down, then slant in to the point.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

On the front draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a white shine.

  4. Step 4: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a U smile. Draw a small oval cheek beside each end of the smile.

  5. Step 5: The handle

In the middle of the top draw the handle, a long thin U with a tiny oval on top.

Tip Rub out the top's back line inside the handle.

  6. Step 6: A star

Under the smile draw a star made of two triangles: one pointing up and one pointing down, overlapping.

  7. Step 7: Spin lines

Draw 3 short whoosh lines beside the dreidel, 2 left and 1 right, so it looks like it is spinning.

  8. Step 8: The ground

Start out on the left and draw 1 long straight ground line under the point, stopping out on the right.

  9. Step 9: Sparkles

Draw a sparkle star up on each side of the dreidel.

  10. Step 10: Sky top and side

Colour the top and the side sky blue.

  11. Step 11: Yellow handle, pink cheeks

Colour the handle and sparkles yellow and the cheeks pink.

  12. Step 12: Blue dreidel

Colour the front blue around the cheeks, leaving the eyes and star white. Your dreidel is ready to spin!
