How to Draw a Portal
Draw a portal in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: stone ring.
Step 1: Stone ring
In the middle, draw one big tall oval.
Step 2: The inside
Inside it, draw a second tall oval a finger in from the edge, so the ring is a thick band.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Inside the ring, above the middle, draw 2 big egg eyes, one eye apart. Add black dots with shines.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes, draw a wide U smile from eye to eye. Add a small oval cheek at each end.
Step 5: Magic swirls
Start 4 swirly arms on the inside oval, all turning one way. Curl each tip in, just before the face.
Step 6: Glowing stones
In the middle of the band, draw 3 little round stones: one at the top and one on each side.
Step 7: Base and ground
Under the ring, draw a low stone base that starts and stops at the ring. Add a ground line.
Step 8: Sparkles
Draw 4 sparkle stars off to the sides of the portal, 2 on each side.
Step 9: Yellow stones, pink cheeks
Go over your lines. Colour the stones and sparkles yellow and the cheeks pink. Leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Purple inside
Colour the inside of the ring purple, going around the face.
Step 11: Slate ring and base
Colour the ring and the base slate grey, around the stones, and your portal is done!
