Print

  1. Step 1: The head

Draw a big bumpy egg lying on its side, with a chubby snout bump at the bottom left.

Tip Leave room above for horns and below for the neck.

  2. Step 2: Two horns

On top of the head draw 2 fat banana horns sweeping back. Start and stop each on the head line.

Tip Horns lean back, not straight up.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

Across the middle of the head draw 2 big tall oval eyes close together. Add black dots and white shines.

Tip The dots look toward the snout.

  4. Step 4: Smile, fang and nostril

Start on the snout. Draw a long smile that stops under the back eye. Add a tiny fang and nostril.

Tip Keep the smile clear of the eyes.

  5. Step 5: Ear frill

Behind the back horn draw a fan ear frill with 3 points. Start and stop on the head line.

Tip Add 1 line from the head to the middle point.

  6. Step 6: The neck

Start on the back of the head. Draw down the neck, round the bottom, and stop at the chin.

  7. Step 7: Tummy stripes

Inside the neck draw a line from the chin down to the bottom. Add 4 curved stripes across the front.

  8. Step 8: Neck spikes

Down the back of the neck draw 3 triangle spikes, each sitting on the neck line.

  9. Step 9: A puff of smoke

Above the snout draw 2 little cloud puffs of smoke, a small one and a bigger one above it.

  10. Step 10: Yellow horns and tummy

Colour the 2 horns and the tummy stripes yellow. Add a pink cheek under the back eye.

  11. Step 11: Orange frill, purple spikes

Colour the ear frill orange and the 3 neck spikes purple.

  12. Step 12: Red scales

Colour the head and neck red, around the cheek and the yellow tummy. Leave the eyes white.
