How to Draw a Dragon Fruit
Draw a dragon fruit in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: fruit.
Step 1: Fruit
Left of the middle draw a big egg standing up, as big as your fist, leaning a touch left.
Step 2: Flaps on top
On top of the egg draw 3 flaps. Start on the edge, out to a point, stop on the edge.
Step 3: Flaps on the sides
Draw 3 more flaps on the sides: start on the edge, out to a point, stop on it.
Step 4: Leaf scales
On the front of the egg draw 4 pointed leaf shapes lying on the skin, leaning up to the right.
Tip Keep each scale a finger away from the edge and from the others.
Step 5: Shine
Inside the upper left of the egg draw a thin sliver for a shine, following the edge.
Step 6: A half
Beside the egg, low on the right, draw a round as big as your palm for a half dragon fruit.
Step 7: White inside
Draw a second round a finger inside the half for the white flesh.
Step 8: Seeds
Dot 8 tiny circles in the white flesh for the seeds, spread out.
Step 9: Ground
Draw a ground line under the fruit and the half, from left to right, not through them.
Step 10: Pink skin
Go over your lines. Colour the egg and the rim of the half pink, around the scales and the shine.
Step 11: Green flaps and scales
Colour the flaps and the scale leaves green.
Step 12: White flesh, black seeds
Colour the flesh white around the seeds, then the seeds black. Your dragon fruit is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a dragon fruit, drawn by you.
