How to Draw a Dragon Boat
Draw a dragon boat in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: long hull.
Step 1: Long hull
From left to right, draw a dipping line. Under it add a smile line and a wide bowl with open ends.
Tip Leave both ends open: the neck and the tail grow from them.
Step 2: Dragon's neck
From the open front end, on the right, draw a thick neck: 2 curved lines joined on top.
Step 3: Dragon's head
On top of the neck, draw a big rounded head facing right with a long bumpy snout.
Step 4: Eye and smile
Draw a big round eye with a black dot. Add a nostril dot and a smile starting at the snout.
Step 5: Horns and bumps
Draw 2 curved horns sweeping back from the head top. Draw 4 round bumps down the back of the neck.
Step 6: The tail
From the open back end, draw a thick tail curling up to a thin tip. Add a leaf fin.
Step 7: The drum
In the middle of the boat, draw a drum: an oval top, 2 short sides and a zigzag between them.
Step 8: Scales and waves
Draw scale bumps along the boat. Draw wave bumps from near the left edge to near the right edge.
Step 9: The sun
At the top, left of the dragon, draw a circle for the sun with 8 short rays all around.
Step 10: Yellow parts
Colour the horns, the neck bumps, the tail fin, the drum and the sun yellow.
Step 11: Blue sea
Colour the sea blue from the waves down to the bottom of the page.
Step 12: Red dragon boat
Colour the boat, neck, head and tail red, around the yellow parts. Leave the eye white.
