How to Draw a Mine Cart
Draw a mine cart in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the bucket.
Step 1: The bucket
Above the middle, draw a tub like a flowerpot, walls leaning out so the top is much wider.
Step 2: The rim
Start on the left wall just under the top. Draw a line straight across to stop on the right wall.
Step 3: Iron straps and rivets
Draw 2 narrow straps from the rim to the bottom, leaning like the walls. Add 2 rivet dots in each.
Step 4: Two little wheels
Under the bucket, draw 2 small round wheels, one under each strap. Add a small circle in each.
Step 5: The trucks
From the bottom edge beside each wheel, draw 2 short lines slanting in until they hide behind the wheel.
Step 6: Rocks and gold
Along the top of the bucket, draw 2 round rocks peeping over, and a knobbly gold nugget between them.
Step 7: The rail and sleepers
Draw one long straight rail under both wheels, from well left to well right. Add 5 flat sleepers under it.
Step 8: Gold nugget, grey rocks
Colour the nugget yellow like gold. Colour the 2 rocks and the 2 wheel nuts grey.
Step 9: Brown straps, wood sleepers
Colour the rim, straps and trucks rusty brown. Colour the 5 sleepers wood brown.
Step 10: Slate bucket, black wheels
Colour the bucket slate grey around the straps. Colour the wheels black around the nuts.
