How to Draw a Double Burger

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a double burger in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the puffy top bun.

Print

  1. Step 1: The puffy top bun

Above the middle of your paper draw a big wide dome, like half a ball, with a flat bottom.

Tip Make it wide: everything else hangs under it.

  2. Step 2: Sesame seeds

Sprinkle 12 tiny rice-grain seeds over the top of the bun in 3 loose rows.

Tip Keep the seeds a finger inside the bun's edge.

  3. Step 3: Frilly lettuce

Under the bun draw 5 hills in a row, like an upside-down cloud. Curl a leaf out at each end.

Tip The lettuce hides behind the bun, so never draw over the bun's line.

  4. Step 4: Cheese slice

Under the lettuce draw a thin cheese slice with pointy corners poking out wider than the bun.

Tip The cheese is thin, only as tall as the lettuce hills are deep.

  5. Step 5: Melty drips

Hang 3 melty drips off the bottom of the cheese: short, long and middle-sized. Each ends in a round blob.

  6. Step 6: The thick patty

Under the cheese draw a fat patty, bulging out past the cheese, with a softly bumpy bottom.

Tip The patty is twice as tall as the cheese. Go behind the drips.

  7. Step 7: Second cheese

Under the patty draw another thin cheese slice with pointy corners. Only draw the parts you can see.

  8. Step 8: Second patty

Under the second cheese draw another fat patty with a bumpy bottom, stopping on the cheese.

Tip Two patties make it a double!

  9. Step 9: The bottom bun

Under the second patty draw the bottom bun: a big round bowl, as wide as the patty.

  10. Step 10: The plate

Start on the bottom bun's left side. Draw a wide flat oval plate under it, back to the right side.

Tip Only draw the plate you can see outside the bun, never across it.

  11. Step 11: Cream seeds, sky plate

Colour the sesame seeds cream and the plate sky blue.

  12. Step 12: Tan buns, yellow cheese

Colour both buns tan around the seeds, and both cheese slices yellow, drips too.

  13. Step 13: Green lettuce, brown patties

Colour the lettuce green and both patties brown around the yellow drips. Then go over all your lines.
