How to Draw a Control Tower
Draw a control tower in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tower.
Step 1: The tower
In the middle of your paper draw a tall tower that gets narrower going up, with a flat top.
Step 2: The cab floor
On top of the tower draw a short wide box poking out past both sides.
Step 3: The glass cab
On the box draw the glass cab, wider at the top like an upside-down flowerpot. Draw 4 slanted window lines.
Tip The cab leans out so people can look down at the planes.
Step 4: Roof, antenna and radar
Draw a flat roof. From it draw an antenna up to a ball, and a dish on a post.
Step 5: Door and windows
At the bottom of the tower draw an arched door. Up the tower draw 2 small rainbow windows.
Step 6: The airport building
Start low on the tower. Draw a long low building out and back to the tower. Do both sides.
Step 7: Ground and runway
From the left edge draw a ground line across to the right edge. Add a runway line and dashes below.
Step 8: Plane and cloud
Top left, draw a plane flying left, fin and wing starting and ending on it. Top right, draw a cloud.
Step 9: Sky-blue windows, yellow door
Colour the glass cab and all the windows sky blue. Colour the door yellow.
Step 10: Grey tower, red roof
Colour the tower, cab floor, buildings and dish grey, around the door and windows. Colour the roof and ball red.
Step 11: Slate runway, red plane
Colour the runway slate grey, leaving the dashes white. Colour the plane red. Your control tower is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a control tower, drawn by you.
