How to Draw a Doll
Draw a doll in 11 steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper, draw a big round head, a little wider than tall.
Step 2: Hair and pigtails
Draw a hair dome from one side of the head over to the other, a fringe, and 2 teardrop pigtails.
Tip The fringe is 4 hill bumps; pigtails tuck under the hair beside the cheeks.
Step 3: Eyes and smile
Below the middle, draw 2 big eyes one eye apart, with a black dot and shine. Add a U smile.
Step 4: Lashes, nose and cheeks
Flick up a lash from each eye. Add a tiny nose, and a cheek beside each end of the smile.
Step 5: Bows and yarn strands
At each pigtail top, draw a bow: a knot, 2 butterfly loops, 2 tails. Add 2 yarn strands below.
Step 6: Neck and dress
Add a short neck with 3 stitches across it. From it, flare 2 dress sides. Join them with hem bumps.
Tip The stitches cross one thin line. The dress is a bell with a frilly hem of 5 hills.
Step 7: Collar, sleeves and buttons
Add 2 collar bumps under the neck. Puff a sleeve out from each shoulder and back to the dress line.
Tip Then draw 2 small buttons down the middle of the dress.
Step 8: Arms and mitten hands
From each puff sleeve, draw a soft arm bending at the elbow and ending in a mitten with a thumb.
Step 9: Legs, shoes and ground
Under the hem, draw 2 legs, a strapped shoe under each, toe out, and a ground line.
Step 10: Peach skin, yellow hair
Colour the skin peach around the cheeks, and the hair yellow. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Pink dress, red bows
Colour the dress, sleeves and cheeks pink, and the bows and shoes red. Go over your lines and you're done!
Tip Leave the collar white.
