How to Draw a Dog Walker

20 steps · Tricky · about 15 min

Draw a dog walker in 20 steps, about 15 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Print

  1. Step 1: The head

Near the top right, draw an egg head, a little narrower at the chin.

Tip The dog will walk on the left.

  2. Step 2: The face

Draw 2 eyes, a nose and a smile. Start on each side, draw a C ear, stop on the head.

  3. Step 3: Baseball cap

Start on the left above the eyes. Draw a cap over the top, stop on the right. Add a visor.

  4. Step 4: Neck and T-shirt

Start under the chin with 2 neck lines. Draw a T-shirt with short sleeves, ending at the other neck line.

  5. Step 5: Arms and fists

Start at the left sleeve. Draw an arm reaching down and out, stop at a fist. The right arm hangs.

Tip Add a fist on the right wrist too. The left fist holds the leash.

  6. Step 6: Shorts, legs, sneakers

Start at the T-shirt hem and draw shorts. Draw 2 legs down, stop above the ground. Add sneakers and ground.

  7. Step 7: Dog head

On the left draw a wide soft dog head with round cheeks and a flat top, above the ground.

Tip Leave room under the head for the chest and legs.

  8. Step 8: Floppy ears

Hang a big floppy ear over the right side of the head. Add a small ear on the left.

Tip Rub out the head line inside the big ear.

  9. Step 9: Dog eyes

On the middle of the dog head, a little to the left, draw 2 big oval eyes with black dots.

Tip Leave a tiny white shine in each eye.

  10. Step 10: Snout and smile

Draw a snout poking past the left cheek. Add a black nose. Start a smile under it, stop inside the snout.

Tip Rub out the head line inside the snout.

  11. Step 11: Long back

Start at the big ear. Draw a long back with a dip, curl round the bottom, stop below chin level.

  12. Step 12: Chest and front leg

Start under the chin. Draw a round chest and a leg down to a plump paw, then back up.

Tip The leg gets thinner near the paw.

  13. Step 13: Tummy and back leg

From the front leg draw the tummy. Curve down into a back leg and paw, up to the bottom.

  14. Step 14: Far legs

Draw 1 more leg peeking out in front of each leg, with its paw on the ground.

Tip Leave a gap of ground between the front legs and the back legs.

  15. Step 15: Tail and collar

On the bottom draw a short tail pointing up. Draw 2 collar lines from the back down to the cheek.

  16. Step 16: The leash

Start at the left fist. Draw a curved leash over the dog's back, stop at the top of the collar.

  17. Step 17: Red cap, navy shorts

Go over your lines. Colour the cap, T-shirt and collar red, and the shorts navy.

  18. Step 18: Cream snout

    Colour the dog's snout cream.

  19. Step 19: Brown dog

Colour the dog brown, around the snout and collar. Leave the eyes white.

  20. Step 20: Peach skin, pink cheeks

Colour the face, neck, ears, arms and legs peach, with pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white. Done!
