How to Draw a Deer
Draw a deer in 12 steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top left of your paper draw a big round head with soft cheeks. Leave room on the right.
Tip A big head makes it cute: as big as the body is deep.
Step 2: Eyes and nose
Draw 2 big eyes and a small nose on the head. From the nose draw a line down to a smile.
Step 3: Antlers and ears
On top of the head draw 2 branching antlers curving up. Add a leaf ear below each antler.
Step 4: The neck
Start behind the head and draw the neck down to the right. Draw the front from the chin down.
Step 5: The body
Start at the neck bottom. Draw a big bean body with a round bottom, back to the neck.
Tip A bean, not a loaf: the bottom is rounder and higher.
Step 6: Two legs
Draw a ground line. From the chest draw a front leg, thinner down to a hoof. Add a back leg.
Tip Each leg is thicker at the top, like a carrot.
Step 7: The far legs
Draw 2 more legs peeking out from behind the first ones. Start under the tummy and stop at a hoof.
Step 8: The tail
On the top corner of the bottom draw a little leaf tail pointing up, like a small flag.
Step 9: Spots
Draw 5 oval spots on the back in 2 loose rows, 3 on top and 2 below.
Step 10: Peach ears
Go over your lines. Colour the inside of the ears peach.
Step 11: Colour it ginger
Colour the head, body, legs and tail ginger, around the spots and peach ears. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Brown antlers, grey hooves
Colour the antlers brown and the hooves dark grey. Your deer is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a deer, drawn by you.
