How to Draw a Dock
Draw a dock in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the walkway.
Step 1: The walkway
Start near the left edge, halfway down. Draw a long flat walkway to the right, stopping two thirds across.
Step 2: Three posts
Draw 3 tall thin posts along the right part of the walkway, each poking up with a round cap.
Tip Rub out the bit of post hiding inside the walkway.
Step 3: Plank lines
Draw 7 short lines down across the walkway, evenly spaced, from the top edge to the bottom edge.
Step 4: The water
From edge to edge, draw a wavy line across the posts, near their bottoms. Add another wavy line lower down.
Tip Rub out the ends of the posts under the wavy line.
Step 5: The bank
At the left edge, under the start of the walkway, draw a rounded bank curving down into the water.
Step 6: The sailboat
Past the end of the dock, draw a melon-slice boat sitting in the water, with a tall triangle sail.
Tip Rub out the wavy line inside the boat.
Step 7: The sun
In the top left, draw a small round sun with 8 short rays around it.
Step 8: Blue water, yellow sun
Colour the water blue, going around the boat, and the sun yellow.
Step 9: Wooden dock and boat
Colour the walkway, the posts, their caps and the boat wood brown.
Step 10: Green bank, red sail
Colour the bank green and the sail red. Go over your lines and your dock is done!
