How to Draw a Doberman
Draw a Doberman in 13 steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top draw a big egg head, wide on top and narrow at the chin.
Tip Leave room underneath for the body and legs.
Step 2: Tall pointed ears
On each top corner draw a tall narrow ear standing up to a soft point. Add a thin triangle inside.
Tip Doberman ears stand tall and narrow, like 2 candle flames.
Step 3: Two big eyes
High on the head draw 2 eggy eyes, a gap apart. Add big black dots with tiny shines.
Step 4: Long snout and nose
From the chin draw a tall upside-down U under the eyes, back to the chin. Add a low black nose.
Tip A doberman has a long lean nose: taller than it is wide.
Step 5: Smile and tongue
From the nose draw a short line down to a w smile. Hang a small U tongue from the middle.
Step 6: The body
From each cheek draw a big C down for the body, ending low. Join them with a sagging line.
Tip A doberman is lean: keep the body only a little wider than the head.
Step 7: Collar and tag
Under the chin draw 2 sagging curves from the left side across to the right. Hang a round tag below.
Step 8: Front legs
From under the collar draw 2 legs down to the ground. Add a paw line and 2 toes on each.
Step 9: Back paws and tail
Draw a little hill paw at each bottom corner. On the right add a short stubby tail poking out.
Step 10: Eyebrow spots and ground
Draw a small oval eyebrow spot a finger above each eye. Then draw a ground line under all 4 paws.
Tip The 2 rust eyebrow spots are the doberman's signature.
Step 11: Pink tongue, red collar
Colour the tongue pink and the collar red.
Step 12: Rust markings
Colour the snout, eyebrow spots, inner ears and all 4 paws brown.
Step 13: Colour the fur black
Colour the rest of the head, ears, body, legs and tail black, around the brown patches. Keep the eyes white.
