How to Draw a Cheetah
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper draw a big egg head, a little wider than tall, with fat low cheeks.
Tip The head is about half the whole cheetah. No corners!
Step 2: Cup ears
On each side of the head draw a small round cup ear, half sunk in. Add a smaller C inside.
Tip Cheetah ears are small low cups, not tall bear ears.
Step 3: Big eyes
Draw 2 big egg eyes just below the middle of the head, each with a black dot and a shine.
Tip Put the white shine on the same side in both eyes.
Step 4: Nose and smile
Under the eyes draw a bun with a black nose. From the nose draw a line down to a w.
Tip The bun is 2 round cheeks side by side, all inside the head.
Step 5: Tear lines
From the inner corner of each eye, draw a thin black tear line tapering down to the bun.
Tip Start wide at the eye and end in a point. The tear lines make it a cheetah, not a lion cub.
Step 6: Body and ground
Start low on each cheek. Draw a bell-shaped body down to a round tummy. Draw the ground line under it.
Tip The body is narrower than the face: a cheetah is the skinny cat.
Step 7: Front legs
Draw a rainbow on the chest. From each end draw a leg down to a fat paw on the ground.
Tip Each leg is a skittle: fat paw, thin wrist, wide shoulder. Add 2 toes.
Step 8: Back legs and paws
Draw a big plump C beside each front leg for the back leg. Add a small bun paw under it.
Tip The back leg is a fat D against the front leg. Add 2 toes.
Step 9: A ringed tail
From high on the right back leg, draw a thick tail down to the ground and up. Add 3 rings.
Tip Thick at the leg, thin at the tip. Put 2 rings close together.
Step 10: Spots
Draw little round spots: 3 on the forehead, 1 on each cheek, 2 on each shoulder and back leg.
Tip Different sizes, not in rows. Keep every spot inside its lines.
Step 11: Cream muzzle
Colour the bun and the insides of the ears cream.
Step 12: Tan fur
Colour the fur tan, around the cream parts, tear lines, spots, tail tip and band. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Black spots and tip
Go over your lines. Colour the spots, the tail tip and the band between the 2 close rings black.

Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a cheetah, drawn by you.
