How to Draw a Dish Rack
Draw a dish rack in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the drip tray.
Step 1: The drip tray
Near the bottom of your paper draw a long low box on the counter for the drip tray.
Step 2: The plates
Above the tray draw 3 big round plates in a row, each a little behind the last, like fanned cards.
Step 3: The face
On the front plate draw 2 big egg eyes with black dots, a wide U smile and 2 small cheeks.
Step 4: The rack rim
Across the bottom of the plates draw a long thin bar on the tray for the rim of the rack.
Step 5: Two cups
On the rim's left draw 2 upside-down cups. Start each C handle high on the cup's left side, stop low.
Step 6: Caddy and spoons
On the right of the rim draw a tall box for the caddy, with a spoon and spatula sticking up.
Step 7: Wire slats
Draw 3 thin upright wires with round tops, standing on the rim in front of the plates' right edges.
Step 8: Counter line
Start a little in from the left edge. Draw a counter line under the tray, stopping near the right edge.
Step 9: Sparkles
Draw 3 four-point sparkles in the empty space above the rack to make it shine.
Step 10: Yellow caddy, pink cheeks
Go over your lines. Colour the caddy and the sparkles yellow and the cheeks pink. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Sky plates, grey tray
Colour the plates sky blue around the eyes and cheeks. Colour the tray and the spoons light grey.
Step 12: Red cups, dark rack
Colour the cups red, then colour the rim and the wires dark grey.
