How to Draw Dew Drops

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw dew drops in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: two grass stalks.

Print

  1. Step 1: Two grass stalks

Draw 2 tall grass stalks, one left and one right, from the ground up to a little oval seed head.

  2. Step 2: Thread and spokes

Join the stalks with a top thread. From the middle draw 6 spokes: 1 up, 1 down, 2 each side.

Tip Dew drops sit like beads on a web at dawn.

  3. Step 3: The web rings

Join the spokes with 2 rings around the middle, a small one and a big one, each sagging a little.

  4. Step 4: Dew drops

Where the rings meet the spokes, draw 3 big teardrops hanging down, each with its point on the thread.

  5. Step 5: More drops

Add 3 more big teardrops: 1 hanging from the top thread and 2 on the big ring.

  6. Step 6: The sun

Draw a sun with short rays in the top right corner, above the web.

  7. Step 7: The ground

Draw the ground line across the bottom of the page, with 2 curved grass blades growing up at each side.

  8. Step 8: Yellow sun, tan seeds

Colour the sun yellow and the seed heads tan.

  9. Step 9: Sky drops

Colour every dew drop pale sky blue, leaving a little white shine near the top of the round part.

  10. Step 10: Green grass

Colour below the ground line, the grass blades and the 2 stalks leaf green. Your dew drops are done!
