How to Draw a Deer Fawn Sleeping
Draw a deer fawn sleeping in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Draw a big head on the left, round on top, narrowing to a soft muzzle. Leave room on the right.
Tip The head rests on the front of the body.
Step 2: Sleepy eyes and nose
Draw 2 closed eyes bowing down. From an oval nose near the chin, draw a line down to a smile.
Tip A sleeping eye is just a little curve, like a tiny rainbow.
Step 3: Big leaf ears
On each top corner of the head draw a leaf-shaped ear pointing up and out, with a smaller leaf inside.
Tip Big ears are what make it a fawn.
Step 4: Curled-up body
Behind the head draw one big curve out to a round bottom, down to the ground, back to the head.
Tip The back is one big curve from head to bottom.
Step 5: Folded front leg
Under the chest draw a long folded leg on the ground, round knee in front, round hoof at the back.
Step 6: Back leg and tail
From the middle of the bottom draw a short C down to a round hoof. Add a leaf tail.
Step 7: Spots and Zzz
Draw 6 small round spots on the back. Right of the head draw 3 Zs floating up, each one bigger.
Step 8: The ground
Draw one long ground line under the knee, the hooves and the body, a little past each end.
Step 9: Colour it ginger
Colour the ear insides peach. Colour the fawn ginger, around the peach, the white spots and the hooves.
Step 10: Slate hooves
Colour the hooves slate. Your sleeping fawn is done!
