How to Draw a Deck of Cards
Draw a deck of cards in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the top card.
Step 1: The top card
In the middle of your paper draw a tall rectangle with rounded corners for the top card.
Tip Tall and neat, like a door.
Step 2: The stack
Start low on the left side. Draw 3 lines hugging under the card, each stopping on the right side.
Tip These are the edges of all the cards underneath.
Step 3: Two fanned cards
Behind the top card draw a card leaning out to the left and one leaning out to the right.
Tip Each one swings out from a bottom corner, like a fan.
Step 4: Letter A
In the top left corner of the top card draw a letter A for ace.
Step 5: Upside-down A
In the bottom right corner draw the same letter A upside down.
Step 6: A big spade
In the middle of the top card draw a spade: an upside-down heart with a little foot.
Tip Start at the point on top and end back at the point.
Step 7: A heart
On the left card draw a small heart, tilted like the card.
Step 8: A diamond
On the right card draw a small diamond with 4 points, tilted like the card.
Step 9: Sandy edges
Go over your lines. Colour the 3 thin strips under the top card sandy. Leave the cards white.
Step 10: Red marks
Colour the heart and the diamond red.
Tip Hearts and diamonds are always red.
Step 11: Black spade
Colour the big spade black. Your deck of cards is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a deck of cards, drawn by you.
