How to Draw a Graduated Cylinder
Draw a graduated cylinder in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tall tube.
Step 1: The tall tube
Draw a tall thin tube with a flat top and bottom. Pull the top-left corner out into a little spout.
Tip Keep the 2 long sides straight and the same distance apart.
Step 2: The base
Under the tube draw a wide flat base with round corners, wider than the tube.
Tip The base is about twice as wide as the tube.
Step 3: A happy face
Low in the tube draw 2 big round eyes with black dots. Under them draw a U smile.
Step 4: The liquid line
Above the eyes, start on the left side. Draw a flat line across and stop on the right side.
Step 5: Rosy cheeks
Beside each end of the smile draw a small oval cheek.
Step 6: Long marks
Above the liquid draw 5 long marks from the right side inward, evenly spaced.
Tip Start the first mark a little below the top.
Step 7: Short marks
Between the long marks draw 4 short marks from the right side inward.
Step 8: A shine
Inside the left side, near the top, draw a thin line down. Stop well above the liquid.
Step 9: The table
Draw a table line out from each side of the base.
Step 10: Pink cheeks
Colour the cheeks pink.
Step 11: Pale glass
Colour the empty glass and the base very light blue.
Step 12: Blue liquid
Colour the liquid blue around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white. Your graduated cylinder is full!

Your finished drawing
