How to Draw a Deep Sea Diver

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a deep sea diver in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: round helmet.

Print

  1. Step 1: Round helmet

Near the top of your paper, in the middle, draw a big round helmet.

Tip Make it as round as you can. Leave room above it for the air hose.

  2. Step 2: Front window

In the middle of the helmet draw a circle. Draw a bigger circle around it for the rim.

  3. Step 3: Friendly face

Inside the window draw 2 oval eyes with black dots, and a small smile under them.

Tip Only the eyes and the smile show through the window.

  4. Step 4: Three ports

Draw a small rounded box poking out on each side of the helmet, and one on top.

  5. Step 5: Brass collar

Under the helmet draw a wide collar with round shoulders. Add a curve across it from edge to edge.

  6. Step 6: Suit and belt

Under the collar draw the suit body, straight down. Across its bottom draw a belt with a square buckle.

  7. Step 7: Two arms

From under each shoulder draw a baggy arm. It goes out to the elbow, then straight down.

Tip Make each arm fat at the top and thinner at the wrist.

  8. Step 8: Mitten gloves

On each wrist draw a mitten, thumb on the inside. Add a cuff line across each, from edge to edge.

Tip Rub out the end of the arm inside each glove.

  9. Step 9: Baggy legs

From under the belt draw 2 baggy legs. From the outside of each knee draw a short crease.

Tip Leave an upside-down V gap between the legs.

  10. Step 10: Heavy boots

Under each leg draw a big boot with a round toe pointing out. Draw a long ground line under them.

Tip Rub out the leg lines inside the boots. Draw a line across each boot for its thick sole.

  11. Step 11: Air hose, bubbles

From the top right of the helmet draw a wavy hose going up. Draw 3 bubbles on the left.

Tip The hose carries air down from a boat.

  12. Step 12: Peach face, yellow brass

Colour the face peach and leave the eyes white. Colour the helmet and the collar yellow.

  13. Step 13: Sandy suit, orange trim

Colour the suit sandy: body, arms and legs. Colour the window rim, the 3 ports and the buckle orange.

  14. Step 14: Brown gloves, grey boots

Colour the gloves and the belt brown. Colour the boots and the hose grey. Leave the bubbles white.
