How to Draw D20 Dice
Draw d20 dice in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: six-sided outline.
Step 1: Six-sided outline
Draw a big shape with 6 equal sides: a point at the top and a point at the bottom.
Tip Use a ruler if you like: the left and right sides go straight up and down.
Step 2: Middle triangle
In the middle, draw a triangle with 3 equal sides, point up. Leave a gap all the way round.
Tip The triangle's point sits under the top point of the big shape.
Step 3: Top lines
From the triangle's top corner, draw 3 lines: straight up to the top point and out to both upper corners.
Step 4: Left lines
From the triangle's left corner, draw 3 lines: to both left corners and down to the bottom point.
Step 5: Right lines
From the triangle's right corner, draw 3 lines: to both right corners and down to the bottom point.
Tip Count the triangles: 1 in the middle and 9 round it.
Step 6: Number 20
In the middle triangle, write a big 20. Keep it away from the triangle's sides.
Tip Make the 2 and the 0 the same height.
Step 7: Shadow
Under the die, draw a long flat oval shadow. It hides behind the bottom point.
Step 8: Sky blue middle
Colour the middle triangle sky blue, around the 20.
Step 9: Blue faces
Colour the 3 big triangles that touch the middle one blue: upper left, upper right and bottom.
Step 10: Navy edge, grey shadow
Colour the 6 thin outside triangles navy and the shadow grey. Go over your lines!
