How to Draw a Water Filter
Draw a water filter in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the jug.
Step 1: The jug
Draw a tall jug: flat top, a pointy spout on the left, straight sides and round bottom corners.
Tip Make the jug a touch narrower at the bottom.
Step 2: The lid
Start at the jug's top left corner. Draw a low lid with round corners. Stop at the top right corner.
Step 3: The handle
Start under the lid on the right. Draw a big C back to the jug. Add a smaller C inside.
Step 4: The top tank
A bit above the middle draw a straight line across the jug. Start at one side, stop at the other.
Tip Tap water is poured into the top tank.
Step 5: The filter
Start on that line. Draw a fat U hanging down, back up to the line. Add 3 stripes across it.
Tip The filter catches the dirt as the water trickles through.
Step 6: Water on top
In the top tank draw a gently wavy line. Start at the left side, stop at the right side.
Step 7: A drip
Just under the filter draw one little teardrop drip, falling down.
Step 8: Clean water
Near the bottom draw another gently wavy line. Start at the left side, stop at the right side.
Step 9: The table
Draw a long table line under the jug, just touching its bottom.
Step 10: Sky blue air
Go over your lines. Colour the empty space above each wavy line sky blue, around the filter and drip.
Tip Leave the filter white.
Step 11: Blue water
Colour the water under each wavy line blue. Colour the little drip blue too.
Step 12: Teal lid and handle
Colour the lid and the handle teal. Your water filter is done!
