How to Draw a Table Setting
Draw a table setting in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the placemat.
Step 1: The placemat
Draw a big box with soft corners filling most of your paper. This is the placemat.
Step 2: The plate
In the middle of the mat, a little low, draw one big round circle for the plate.
Step 3: Two big eyes
In the middle of the plate draw 2 big round eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Draw a U smile from under the left eye to the right eye. Add a little cheek at each end.
Step 5: The rim ring
Inside the plate draw a second circle, a finger in from the edge, for the rim.
Step 6: The napkin
On the left of the mat draw a tall box for the folded napkin, taller than the plate.
Step 7: The fork
On the napkin draw a fork: a small box with 3 short lines inside, and a long thin handle down.
Step 8: The knife
Right of the plate draw a knife: a tall blade with a rounded top, and a long thin handle down.
Step 9: The glass
Above the knife draw a round circle for the glass, with a smaller circle inside it.
Step 10: Tan mat
Go over your lines. Colour the placemat tan, around the plate, the napkin, the knife and the glass.
Step 11: Pink cheeks, sky water
Leave the plate and the glass rim white. Colour the cheeks pink and the water sky blue.
Step 12: Grey fork, blue napkin
Colour the fork and knife grey, then the napkin blue around the fork. Your table is set for dinner!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a table setting, drawn by you.
