How to Draw a Cutting Board
Draw a cutting board in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the board.
Step 1: The board
In the middle draw a big wide box with rounded corners for the board, about twice as wide as tall.
Tip A cutting board is a thick flat slab of wood.
Step 2: A tomato
On the left draw a big round tomato poking over the board's back edge. Rub out the edge inside.
Step 3: Board face
Right of the tomato draw 2 big egg eyes with black dots, a U smile and 2 cheeks.
Step 4: Leaves and stem
On top of the tomato draw a little star of leaves pointing left and right, and a short stem.
Step 5: The handle
From the board's right end draw a rounded tab out and back, rub out the edge inside, add a hole.
Step 6: Three slices
Below the tomato draw 3 oval slices in a slanting row, each overlapping the last, with a half-size oval inside.
Step 7: Wood grain
Draw a gentle grain curve along the back edge from the tomato, and one along the front under the face.
Step 8: Thickness and table
Under the board's front draw a thin strip for its thick edge, then a table line from side to side.
Step 9: Pink middles, cheeks
Colour the slice middles and the cheeks pink.
Step 10: Red tomato, green leaves
Colour the tomato and the slice rims red, and the leaves green.
Step 11: Wood board
Colour the board and handle wood brown around everything, the edge dark brown, and leave the eyes white.
