How to Draw a Curtain
Draw a curtain in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the curtain rod.
Step 1: The curtain rod
Near the top draw a long line from left to right, nearly page wide, with a knob on each end.
Step 2: The curtains
From the rod draw a curtain on each side: in to a narrow waist, then out to a wavy hem.
Step 3: Tiebacks
At the waist of each curtain draw a small rounded band across it, a bit wider than the waist.
Step 4: The window
From the rod draw the window: down behind a curtain, across the bottom, and back up to the rod.
Step 5: Window panes
In the window draw a line down the middle and a line across the middle, so there are 4 panes.
Step 6: Folds
On each curtain draw 3 soft fold lines: 2 from rod to tieback, one from tieback to hem.
Step 7: Moon and stars
In the window draw a round moon in the top-right pane and 3 tiny sparkle stars in the other panes.
Step 8: The sill
Under the curtains draw a long flat rounded bar for the window sill, leaving a small gap under the hems.
Step 9: Yellow tiebacks and moon
Go over your lines, then colour the tiebacks, the rod knobs, the moon and the stars yellow.
Step 10: Red curtains
Colour both curtains red, around the yellow tiebacks.
Step 11: Night window, wood sill
Colour the window navy around the moon and stars, and the sill wood brown. Your curtains are done!
