How to Draw Cursive Letters
Draw cursive letters in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the writing line.
Step 1: The writing line
Draw a long straight writing line across the lower half of your paper.
Tip Cursive is joined-up writing: the pencil swoops from one letter into the next.
Step 2: Cursive a
Start near the left, above the line. Draw a round oval a, slide down, and swing up right. Stop.
Step 3: Up for the b
Start where you stopped. Swoop up tall, round a soft loop at the top, and come down to the line.
Tip No sharp corners: the loop is round like a thin egg.
Step 4: The b's bowl
Start where you stopped. Curve out right and up into a small round bowl, back to the tall line.
Step 5: The bridge
From the bowl draw a short dip out right, then slope up to where the c's top will be.
Tip The bridge joins the b to the c: no gap.
Step 6: Cursive c
Start where the bridge stopped. Draw an open round c: down to the line, round the bottom and up right.
Step 7: A little star
In the top left corner, above the a, draw a little 5-point star.
Step 8: Star face
On the star draw 2 big round eyes with black dots, and a small U smile under them.
Step 9: Sparkles
Draw 2 little sparkle stars in the empty space at the top right.
Step 10: Pink cheeks, yellow star
Colour pink cheeks under the eyes. Colour the star and sparkles yellow, around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: cursive letters, drawn by you.
