How to Draw Stripes
Draw stripes in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the square.
Step 1: The square
In the middle draw a big square with straight sides and soft corners, nearly as big as your page.
Tip Stripes are straight bands side by side, all the same width.
Step 2: Side marks
Down each side make 6 small marks, evenly spaced, to split the square into 7 equal parts.
Tip Make the marks light, so they rub out easily.
Step 3: The first line
From the top mark on the left, draw a straight line across to the top mark on the right.
Step 4: The second line
From the next mark on the left, draw another straight line across to the next mark on the right.
Step 5: Two more lines
Join the next 2 pairs of marks with straight lines, each from the left edge to the right edge.
Step 6: The last two lines
Join the last 2 pairs of marks, each from the left edge to the right. Now you have 7 bands.
Step 7: Sparkles
Draw 4 small sparkle stars off the corners of the square, not touching it.
Step 8: Cream bands
Go over your lines and rub out the marks. Colour the second, fourth and sixth bands cream.
Step 9: Yellow sparkles
Colour the 4 sparkles yellow.
Step 10: Red bands
Colour the other 4 bands red, so red and cream take turns. Your stripes are done!
