How to Draw a Cupcake in a Jar
Draw a cupcake in a jar in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: jar mouth.
Step 1: Jar mouth
Above the middle of your paper draw a small flat oval for the mouth of the jar, 3 fingers across.
Step 2: Jar
From the left end of the oval draw a neck, a shoulder, a flat bottom, up to the right end.
Tip The glass jar lets you see all the layers.
Step 3: Threads
Round the neck draw 2 gently bowed lines close together, from one side to the other.
Step 4: Layer lines
Across the jar draw 3 soft wavy lines from side to side, to split it into layers.
Step 5: Frosting swirl
Out of the jar mouth draw a frosting swirl: a wide tier, a smaller tier and a round top.
Step 6: Sprinkles and a cherry
On the swirl draw 5 tiny tilted ovals for sprinkles, and a small round cherry with a stem on top.
Step 7: Table
Draw a line under the jar from left to right, just touching its bottom.
Step 8: Cream top layer
Go over your lines, then colour the top layer in the jar cream. Leave the neck clear.
Step 9: Pink frosting
Colour the third layer and the frosting swirl pink, around the little sprinkles.
Step 10: Brown cake, red cherry
Colour the second layer and the bottom layer brown for cake, and the cherry red.
Step 11: Yellow and sky sprinkles
Colour the sprinkles yellow and sky blue, taking turns.
