How to Draw a Cup
Draw a cup in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the rim.
Step 1: The rim
Above the middle draw a wide flat oval, about a hand across. Draw a slightly smaller oval just inside it.
Step 2: The cup
From each end of the oval draw a line down, leaning in a little. Join the bottoms with a smile.
Tip The cup is narrower at the bottom, like a paper cup.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the front of the cup draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a shine.
Step 4: The straw
Start inside the rim, right of middle. Draw a thin straw up past the rim, bending right at the top.
Tip Rub out the rim lines inside the straw.
Step 5: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from eye to eye. Add a flat oval cheek beside each end.
Step 6: Stripe and dots
Near the bottom draw 2 smile curves across the cup, a finger apart. Add 3 little dots along the stripe.
Step 7: Table and shadow
Draw a table line from side to side, behind the cup's bottom. Add a flat oval shadow under the cup.
Step 8: Orange drink, pink cheeks
Go over your lines. Colour the drink inside the rim orange and the cheeks pink.
Step 9: Sky cup, grey shadow
Colour the cup sky blue around the cheeks, leaving the rim, stripe and eyes white. Colour the shadow grey.
Step 10: Red straw and dots
Colour the straw and the 3 dots red. Your cup is ready to drink!
