How to Draw a Net of a Cube
Draw a net of a cube in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: long strip.
Step 1: Long strip
Across the middle of your paper draw a long box, 4 times as long as it is tall.
Tip The 4 squares in a row will share this box.
Step 2: Middle line
Start at the middle of the top edge. Draw a straight line down and stop at the bottom edge.
Step 3: Four equal squares
Start on the top edge in the middle of each half. Draw straight down and stop at the bottom.
Tip Now you have 4 equal squares. Check each one is as wide as it is tall.
Step 4: Top square
Above the second square draw 3 sides of a same-size square, starting and ending on the strip.
Step 5: Bottom square
Under the second square draw 3 more sides the same way, starting and ending on the strip.
Tip Six squares in a cross: this net really folds into a cube.
Step 6: Little cube front
In the empty space at the top right draw a small square. This is the front of a cube.
Step 7: Cube top
From the small square's top left corner slant up right, go across, then slant down to the top right corner.
Tip The 2 slanted lines lean the same way and are the same length.
Step 8: Cube side
From the far right corner of the top, draw straight down, then slant back to the square's bottom corner.
Step 9: Yellow top and bottom
Colour the top square and the bottom square yellow. Colour the top of the little cube yellow too.
Step 10: Green front and back
Colour the second and fourth squares in the strip green, and the front of the cube green.
Step 11: Blue sides
Colour the first and third squares blue, and the side of the cube. Go over your lines.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a net of a cube, drawn by you.
