How to Draw a Ghost
Draw a ghost in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big round head.
Step 1: Big round head
Near the top, draw a big egg, a bit wider at the bottom. It is almost half the ghost.
Tip Leave room underneath for the sheet and arms.
Step 2: Big smile
Low in the head, in the middle, draw a wide smile with a gentle top line and a round bottom.
Tip Leave room above the smile for the eyes.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Above the smile, draw 2 tall oval eyes with a gap between them.
Step 4: Pupils and shines
In each eye, draw a big round black pupil in the middle. Leave a little white shine at the top.
Step 5: The sheet
Start on the left cheek. Draw the sheet down, 5 round bumps along the bottom, up to the right cheek.
Tip Make the bumps round like a cloud, not pointy. Rub out the bottom of the head inside the sheet.
Step 6: Two little arms
Start on the sheet under the left cheek. Draw a stubby arm out and back to the sheet. Do both.
Tip Each arm is a short round paddle, about as long as an eye. Rub out the sheet line inside it.
Step 7: Floating lines
Under the wavy hem, draw 2 short curved lines, one under each side, to show it floating.
Step 8: Sparkles
Draw 2 little sparkles in the air, one on each side. Each is 3 short crossing lines.
Step 9: Go over your lines
Go over all your lines with a darker pen. Leave the whole sheet and the eyes white.
Step 10: Pink cheeks, black smile
Give the ghost 2 rosy pink cheeks beside the smile. Colour the smile black.
