How to Draw a Kidney
Draw a kidney in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big bean.
Step 1: The big bean
Draw a tall plump bean: round on the right, with a soft dent in the middle of the left side.
Tip The top half and the bottom half match, like a mirror.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the fat middle draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a shine.
Tip Leave a tiny white dot in each black dot. That is the shine.
Step 3: A happy smile
Leave a gap under the eyes. Draw a U smile from under one eye to under the other.
Step 4: The long tube
Start low in the dent. Draw a fat tube out to the left that bends down and gets thinner.
Tip This tube carries the wee away from your kidney.
Step 5: The middle tube
Just above it, draw a short tube out of the dent to the left, with a round end.
Tip Blood goes out of the kidney through this tube.
Step 6: The top tube
Above that, draw one more short tube out of the dent, tilting up a little.
Tip Blood comes in to be cleaned through this tube.
Step 7: Sparkles
Draw 3 sparkle stars round the kidney, each one in an empty space.
Tip A sparkle star has 4 points: up, down, left and right.
Step 8: Yellow tube
Colour the long bendy tube and the 3 sparkles yellow.
Step 9: Red kidney
Colour the bean and the top tube red. Leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Blue tube
Go over your lines. Colour the middle tube blue. Your kidney is done!
