How to Draw a Crumpet
Draw a crumpet in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a plate.
Step 1: A plate
Below the middle draw a long flat oval plate, nearly as wide as your paper. Add an oval inside it.
Tip The plate comes first; the food sits inside the rim.
Step 2: The top crumpet
Draw a flat oval on the plate. From its left end draw a shallow U underneath, joining the right end.
Step 3: A second crumpet
Under it draw a second crumpet: from the left corner, go down, round a smile, up to the right corner.
Step 4: Holes
On the top crumpet draw lots of tiny holes. Leave a clear space left of the middle for the butter.
Step 5: A pat of butter
Left of the middle draw a small pat of butter: a tilted diamond with 2 short sides under it.
Step 6: A butter drip
From the bottom of the butter draw a little U drip down over the front edge, stopping on the side.
Step 7: Steam
Above the crumpet draw 2 wavy steam lines going up, one each side of the middle.
Step 8: The table
Draw a table line under the plate from well left to well right, just touching its bottom.
Step 9: Cream and yellow
Go over your lines. Colour the top cream around the holes and butter, and the butter and drip yellow.
Step 10: Tan sides, sky plate
Colour both crumpet sides tan, then the plate sky blue around the crumpets.
Step 11: Brown holes
Colour all the tiny holes brown. Your crumpets are done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a crumpet, drawn by you.
